Music Services is part of the Education and Lifelong Learning Department of Southend Borough Council and is funded from government funds.

    Activities include:

      • Instrumental lessons in schools (nearly 80 part-time teachers)

      • Supporting community youth music

The following are some of the groups/music schools that are managed by Music Services:

Saturday Morning Music School – Prittlewell School. Director: David Clark

Junior Music School – St. Mary's Primary School (Tuesdays 4.00-5.00 p.m.)

Rock School – Belfairs School (Wednesdays 5.00-7.00 p.m.) Director: Ken Witherington

Big Band – Belfairs School (Fridays 7.30-9.00 p.m.) Director: Lynn Walsh

Youth Symphonic Wind Band – Blenheim Curriculum Development Centre

Children's Choir – St. George's United Reformed Church (Tuesdays
